I am often asked “what kind of paint do you use?” I will answer this later.
Let me tell you about a my recent morning. We were working for a family on an project when they asked us to finish a painting project the husband never finished. We agreed on the scope of the work but found ourselves short a gallon of latex paint.
I went to the BIG BOX STORE to purchase the needed gallon of paint.
Upon walking in I was handed a sales flyer with a cheerful “Hello”in
the next two minutes I received eight more “Hellos” one offer to put
solar lighting on my house, a free vinyl siding estimate offer,
all on my way to the paint counter.
As I waited alone waiting for my gallon of paint to be mixed (I brought the empty gallon so they could computer match it) twenty minutes went by as the paint mixer dude (looked like he should be surfing but with an orange apron on) then told me he usually works in lawn and garden but the the paint guy called in sick.
Now if I walked into the PAINT STORE I might of not received nine “Hellos” but I would receive the correct product for the specific job as you would also with questions like:
Local paint stores will also let you open a cash account where they keep your paint and color purchases on file for future reference or additional paint purchases at a later date.
Additionally the knowledge that the paint store employees posses is immeasurable in value that they can bring to your painting project. We proudly use Sherwin Williams and Benjamin Moore paints on almost all of our projects.
