4 Tips for a Smooth Window Trim Paint Job
September 24, 2015When a painting project is more than expected.
September 28, 2015The difference between Good and Great paint is about a country mile.
With enough choices on the market anyone could be obviously confused on what type of paint to use on your next interior painting project.
Some shop at the big Box Stores, Some will shop at a Benjamin Moore or Sherwin William’s retailer for their interior paint. These are all great paints but to take painting to the highest level you would have to choose….
BUT WAIT, Who has the BEST?
Ramsden Painting has been painting for almost fifteen years in the residential painting field and without hesitation the Superior interior paint to use would be Fine Paints of Europe.
FPE (Fine Paints of Europe) are expensive. The materials used to produce this paint is simply the best. As to take a sentence from their website “Our coatings contain no inexpensive fillers or extenders, and are composed of only the finest pigments, oils and resins, which are conditioned and combined to yield a beautiful and extremely durable finish.”
We have used FPE in many of fine homes where cost is second to quality craftsmanship and the final finishes of the product.
A quick walk thru of painting doors would be:
- sanding and normal prep
- filling voids with FPE swedish Putty
- priming the door with FPE Primer
- application of two coats of FPE finish
The shine and final characteristics including depth of color is far superior to any other paint on the market. The pigments used to tint are the best as well as the oils and resins needed to produce such a product held to high standards.
The best is not cheap. A Euro gallon of this fine product will set you back around $140. FPE also recommends using their applicator (brushes) for optimal finish.
It also takes some finesse to work this fine paint as we have learned from many projects from railing systems, trim and doors throughout the last few years.
