There are three factors in determining your house painting cost.

1. The surface size of the house being painted as an average gallon of quality paint covers approximately 325 square feet (most homes need two coats of paint)
2. Prep time which would include: Power washing, scraping, sanding, caulking
3. Labor to apply the house paint, one coat (refresh) two coats (color change)

Ranch $ 4,200 and up

Colonial $ 6,000 and up

Custom homes and additions added are all different as well as the condition of the house is the determining factor on the overall cost.  And please note every house painting cost depends on square footage, access to home (terrain and shrubs) and also height.
