Is Your Painting Contractor really INSURED?
December 2, 2015So you have gallons of paint in the cellar and you need to touch up a specific room in the house.
What color did you use?
What type of paint is it?
Do you have any of the paint left?
As a painting contractor we are often pointed to the cellar when asking what color of paint is in a certain room, only to find a wall or stack of paint cans.
We have found a few easy solutions to the GUESSING GAME OF PAINTS.
- Pictures of the can saved in a file on your computer
- Paint card summarizing colors and sheens from a project
And our favorite:
- The color keeper
The color keeper allows you to put actual paint samples on the card for reference as well as you are able to bring these cards with you to match the actual pint and color to anything you may be purchasing for a direct comparison.
It is pretty simple today with advanced technology with cameras and computers at our fingertips. if you use Ramsden Painting we also keep a log of all your colors that we have applied, the manufacturer as well as sheens.
Please note that a sheen from one manufacturer is quite different that others as well as all paints are not created equal. As of my last count there were over 33 different kids of paint sheens and one of the larger paint manufacturers had over 3300 paint colors to choose from.
