A Great Room’s Dramatic color change in Andover, MA

New Owners, New Color, New Room….

New owners had just purchased their first home after getting married.

What to do now?  make it their own.

The new owners wanted a dramatic change for the Great room.  As time moves forward, colors and home styles change also.  This particular home had a skip troweled ceiling texture which is a light swirled ceiling texture and the room and hallway leading to the Great room had stained woodwork as well as doors.

This color combination and style was quite prevalent in the 1990s, but home style is moving to cleaner lines and painted woodwork,

Work completed in this area:

• The ceiling was replastered to a smooth texture and repainted with a off white ceiling paint by Benjamin Moore.
• All the trim was sanded and primed with an oil based stain blocking primer
• The stain was then painted  white semi-gloss paint with Benjamin Moore Regal Select latex paint.
• All walls were painted with Benjamin Moore Regal Select paint Steele Wool 2121-20 eggshell finish

As you can see from the above pictures a fresh coat of paint and a new color dramatically changes the entire feel and look of this room.
